Boys and Their Guns

Santa brought the boys airsoft guns and of course Matt had to have the "big" air soft machine gun. Bad news the trigger broke the day after Christmas. Matt and Mark made a deal one would run across the back yard and be the running target and then switch. Matt had tried to convince the boys, Hunter, and I all day long to do this for him. Needless to say we all turned him down. The boys play in teams with the neighbors a couple of times a day. Guess what - my back yard is covered in red, yellow, and orange bee bee's.

Last Final for Fall!

Well I just finished my last final for fall and passed my ATI (predicts where we stand in the learning process of nursing) better than I hoped I could do and went out to lunch with friends for my birthday today! Now I am debating between taking a nap, making dinner, and not knowing what to do with myself.
I started a new schedule for my kids after school this week and it has been so peaceful, with chores done, no fighting, and kids in bed by 9:00. I must say it is sooo nice, Matt said do we have to do this everyday and I replied, "If you want me to stick around and be your wife you will comply!" He doesn't like consistently! While developing the schedulee schedule the kids and I chose to have him home by 6:00 PM so we could eat as a family each night. For those of you that know him, guess what he hasn't been home on time yet. He is a hard worker of which we are all thankful!

Thanksgiving!

We were busy during Thanksgiving taking care of Launa Mollotte, my niece, and attending 2 dinners will all the fixings. Basin City was our first stop with the Jenks side, it was unusually quick since it was at the Fire Hall. We ate, then quickly cleaned up. All the men had to go home and take a nap, but we ventured over to Grandma Jenks' house to visit with Julia Harmon, Darin Jenks, and Justin Jenks families. It was nice to see everyone and visit for a while.

Friday we drove to Wenatchee to spend the day with Matt's side of the family. We enjoyed the dinner and following tradition, whenever we get together with the Mauseth's there is always a camp fire. But this time the guys stacked two logs on top of each other after the notched the bottom one and hollowed out the center. It as interesting to watch the logs burn standing up. As usual Beau was there the whole time poking sticks in the fire and watching them burn, he also received an education on how to heat up rebar until it's red hot and brand the wood, cows etc. from his grandpa Greg. I think grandpa was teaching the wrong boy! He's my one child likely to burn my house down because he isn't afraid to try anything. I once caught him heating stuff up in the microwave for hours, luckily the electrical outlet caught the problem for us.

Did you notice Hunter's last entry for me. She just wanted to post all of her pictures she takes on a daily basis.

Time to blog again!!

So starting yesterday (monday) we get to have a real treat with us!! LAUNA! This is because Ashley & Mark and his side of the family are going on a trip to cabo with the rest of his family, and said they wouldn't be aloud to go if Launa as there. So launa is stuck with us and boy is she loving the center of attention................maybe a little to much. But at times it makes us gratefull that we dont have a 4th child but we love her anyway.
But just a brief catch up I am busy at school and ready to graduate in June! yippee. While Matt is working away at his job as usual just went out an bought a basketball hoop for the kids cause is trying to make them as best as they can at basketball! As for the kids Hunter is at the moment doing basketball and loving only having one sport going on, and has been working on a "business" in photography with a friend , there website is http://lynandlouphotography.blogspot.com/ . Hudson is enjoying playing with friends and is ready to start wrestling and seems to be taking an intrest in baskteball . Beau is being Beau and becoming more and more blunt everyday-( hard to imagine) , and is to ready to start wrestling.
Here are a few pictures of what Hunter has been able to catch with her new photo taking attitude.

Tagged

Well thanks to my sister Allyson I've been tagged and after reading my sister-in-law Jen's blog I figured out what that means. So bear with me as I come up with 6 things you might not know about me.

1. I love a challenge or new project and am consumed by it until it is completed. Now you have figured out why I am in nursing school!

2. I like color! Not one wall in my house is white except of course the ceiling. I get comments about this all the time from people at school because I always insert colored clip art onto my papers. Color helps me learn!

3. If I don't make my bed in the morning it calls to me all day to go back to sleep. I tell my husband sleeping is my hobby. No one is bugging me now that my kids are older when I am sleeping, they now they will be in trouble if they wake me up. Needles to say I don't like mornings.

4. The hardest part of my day is getting out of bed. I bet you guessed that one already.

5. I like change, and when I begin to feel down I usually go get my hair redone: new style, color, or what every my beautician wants to do, I don't care. I think I get a bit of a high from a new style and trying to figure out how to fix it.

6. This is the hardest one to come up with.....thinking...thinking....I have developed a sick sense of humor since starting nursing school and just recently poked 3 different people, a few a couple of times, until I got my first IV start in a patient. I tend to pass out when I get poked but was not bothered at all by poking some one else.

Boys football

Matt took these pictures of the boys at the end of football season and of course had to add Parker (our dog).

Hudson had a good time playing football and is becoming more competitive each day, especially with his brother and sister.

Beau and I were ready for football to be done. His coach didn't like the younger, smaller kids on his team much and as a result he had to rotate in and played about 1/3 of each game.

For those of you that know Allyson (my sister) Hudson my 11 1/2 year old weighs about the same as her 1st grade boys Jackson and Leighton.

Fall's the Season for Football - Beau

Beau's 1st Football Season!

He wanted to stay home and play with the neighbors, but sure liked to be a part of the team when they won.

???? BEAU????

Beau never seems to amaze me?
He was playing army with the neighbors,
he kept this look for about 45 minutes.

The BIG 14!!!

Hunter with her friend Emmaleigh
on her 14th Birthday! They are both growing up and often argue with their parents.
Yeah for the teen years!!!
Hunters birthday present was getting her bedroom redone. Her main request was a chandelier that of course you can't see in this picture. My sisters Allyson and Ashley helped me shop for the table, ottoman, and chandelier on our girls weekend to Boise recently. Ashley and I painted arranged the room in 2 days. Ashley had her first lesson on how to hang a chandelier. It is nice to have Ashley close with mom in Chicago. We miss you mom and dad! Mom you would have loved to help put this all together, I learned from you how to take every experience as a challenge .
Thanks for your example!

Back to School

Well the kids are now back in school and I just took my boards for my LPN license. I can now officially work as a licened practical-nurse. Hunter is busily playing volleyball, soccer, and now basketball too. She is busy enjoying school, sports, and her friends. Hudson is playing soccer and football with Matt coaching his football team. Matt commented he doesn't think Hudson has a mean bone in his body. He doesn't like to tackle very much. Beau is busy being Beau. He's playing soccer and football, he doesn't like being busy after school at all. He would rather play with his friends than play any sports. His teacher called already to report that he's trying to see what he can get away with in her class. He's very smart when he wants to be, and a goof off the rest of the time. He's very similar to his daddy. Matt is busy working 12-16 hour days and often comments he needs a break but wont take any time off of work. As for me I am now waiting for school to start again and finishing up some home projects.

Schools out!!

Well I thought I would give this a try now that I don't have any homework assignments or tests to study for. The kids had a great time going to visit their cousins in Idaho, Utah, and Las Vegas with their aunt Ashley. They all traveled well and helped Ashley with Launa. Hudson loves little kids and playing with Launa. Beau still enjoys being the baby and has a hard time interacting with toddlers or kids younger than him. Hunter is their second mother and very bossy. She reminds me of Allyson (my sister) when we were growing up. Matt is busy working 12-14 hour days, but we usually spend the weekend boating with family and friends.
